Angelina is passionate about working with children. Her Psychology coursework in adolescent development becomes applied insight in her summer research project. With guidance from her faculty mentor, Dr. Kiren Kahn, Angelina seamlessly integrates her classroom learning into a meaningful real-world project while making a difference in the Memphis community.

Environmental Studies and Sciences

The Environmental Studies & Sciences Program at ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ College offers an innovative curriculum that allows students to combine study in social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and fine arts. The program encourages a personalized combination of interdisciplinary coursework and a sustained examination of global and local contexts environmental issues from many perspectives.

 

Maymesters are unique opportunities to study off-campus or abroad with ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ professors who are experts in their fields. Here, Dr. Michael Collins and Spring Smith '21 talk about ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥' Maymester in Namibia.

Prof. Jennifer Sciubba interviewed Dr. Cary Fowler '71 about his work to conserve crop diversity. The Steve and Riea Lainoff Crop Trust Fellowship in Honor of Cary Fowler '71 provides funding for a recent ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ College graduate to work at the Crop Trust in Bonn, Germany for 12 months after graduation.

Departmental News and Events

Recent ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ College graduates Katherine Buikema, Monica Nedialkova, Maya Khalife-Hamdan, and Anna Rush have been selected to receive Fulbright U.S. Student Awards for the 2025-2026 academic year.
Annual awards were presented at the 176th Commencement Exercises of ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ College held May 17 on campus.
Six graduating seniors’ portraits are being added to ÃÛÁÄÖ±²¥ College’s Hall of Fame on the second floor of Southwestern Hall. They are Keith Adams, Shanteise Bonds, Anh Duy Hoàng, Dylan Morris, Anna Yates, and Sana Zein-Sabatto.
